The Colony of Tarragona is a regional chapter of Champions of Swords (CoS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to historical reenactment and medieval combat education. Based in Bakersfield, California, Tarragona serves as a vibrant hub for enthusiasts of medieval arts, sciences, and combat styles.

🎨 Tournaments of Art and Craft
Let all who dwell within Terragona take heed —
Two grand competitions of artistry shall grace the halls of Saturnalia!
1. The Festive Saturnalia Tournament of Art
Bring forth thy most wondrous creation inspired by the merriment of the season!
Be it painting, illumination, sculpture, beadwork, or craft of any form —
Let the spirit of festivity shine through thy work.
Those who enter this noble contest do so in the spirit of giving,
for all works submitted shall be graciously donated to the Colony of Terragona
and auctioned to support future gatherings and works of the realm.
The Senator shall bestow honors upon the most inspired piece.
2. The Artisan’s Fair
A gallery of unbridled imagination — where Artisans may display any work of their choosing, without theme or bound.
Let the people’s eyes be the judges, for the Populace shall cast their vote to crown their favorite creation.
The Senator too shall choose a Champion of Craft from amongst these worthy works.

⚔️ Tournaments of Arms
For those who favor courage, skill, and the clashing of blades!
• Throwing Weapons – Test thy aim and strength.
• Archery Tournament – Let the keen-eyed and steady-handed prove their mastery of the bow!
• Heavy Sword (Rattan Combat) – Earn an extra life by also entering the Bardic or Artisan competitions.
• Light Sword (Foam Combat) – Swift and agile combat for all.
• Light Steel (Rapier Combat) – Duel with elegance; donate a toy to Toys for Tots for an extra life upon the field.

🍗 The Saturnalian Feast
At midday, join in fellowship for our Luncheon of Saturnalia, featuring a fine Mediterranean repast prepared in the spirit of joy and sharing.
Dine as you please between the twelfth and first hours past noon, and savor the warmth of good company and full bellies.

👑 Court of Celebration & Bardic Competition
At the close of the day, all shall gather for the Court of Terragona at the third hour past noon.
There, the Champions of Saturnalia shall be announced — both in Art and in Arms.
During Court, the Bardic Competition shall be held before the populace!
Let songs be sung, tales told, and verses shared in tribute to the spirit of Saturnalia and the glory of Terragona.
